It had over 3,000 in what were called ‘habates’ a kind of stasis unit where up to 300 at a time were lined up, ready for the craft to land and unload some, all of them OR; to pick up new recruits. 
The Clonectics were equipped with a weapon known as the ‘Cabilista’.
A VERY potent weapon. If you thought that the Clonectic controlled it OR even the Vendaren ‘Verseers’ you would be wrong.
A silica based, particle embryonic, fused and fully self aware weapon. What you might ask the hell is that?
The Xem, is a foetus based life form. It assimilates with the Cabalista, lives within it and has a capsular 2nd pod that is filled with renewable Clossistrial fluid.
Attack it and it will, defend itself. It will seek to protect the one carrying it AND almost all encounters with it; fail.
Enemies, cannot use a Cabalitsta; UNLESS it detects a certain substance/s that is recognised by it, as being ‘worthy’ of its power. The Clossistrial fluid, in a Clonectic, can get secreted, onto the surface of the skin.
BUT, there are other chemicals / secretions that can act the same as the C fluid. When Lizet used one on an Assassin? She had some pheromones on her hands.
That was, sensed by the Xem, as her hands gripped, they sweated a little. A deliciously rich sensation flooding it as it realized it had never experienced this before. Thus it took a liking to the pleasure and decided Lizet would become its new owner.
So where do the Xem come from? They are mass produced in an Embrionne unit. That artifically produces them by the hundreds. Every Vendaren R en 2 has at least 1000 of them in stasis.
During the process, some extra ground crystalite silica particles, are introduced and that, is what makes the Xem what it is. There are over 100 Vendaren females on any one craft.
The male ‘verseers’, can number anything from 300 to a 500. Deployment of the ‘Collectors’ where they raid and seize population are with at least, 100 Clonectics and 10 Verseers.
IF a place resists them, OR fails to comply with their orders, they can infect the entire area, with their plague. A known killer, to virtually any race, that is deemed by them to be less than a generation 4.
They will NEVER raid an Haphketsut world /colony. NOR a Kalheiron OR Jogarth acknowledged as neutral or where a pact or bond has been made. 
Those who are rounded up, are met by the females. They are claimed to be some of the most terrifying because they have a completely blank expression, no feelings, no emotions.
Clonectic guards escort the ‘prisoners’. Once led into a chamber they are gassed to make them fall asleep. Then stripped before being taken naked, in groups for the Clossistrial processing
They end up, dressed in a special single skin suit. Tear proof, hard wearing, resilient AND temperature regulated at ONE temperature only. Any difference in ambient air temperature makes NO difference to them
They refresh their Clossistrial fluids, by plugging in tubes, to special valves, on their bodies. When in stasis they do not need to do that. If they are in a battle scenario they are kept topped up with a special energy supplement.
The transfer of the new ‘Clonectics’ often takes place in space. A simple cargo exchange, onto their military Vendaren, R ‘respite’ A class warships, whilst the empty transports are taken by them.
Vendaren supplies, are also refreshed re their food and fluid intakes. They ingest a chemical cocktail, that keeps them with a perfectly balanced nutritional body. Their waste is via a tube connected to a valve on their body.
Skin and body tissue is refreshed in a typical cleanser unit cept these have special showers that also help protect and nourish their skin. Vendaren females have a reputation for beauty.
Other races, who capture Vendaren females, sell them for a very high price. All of the anatomical parts are in place. Male and female. Human(a) comparison? The Vendaren female, wins everytime.
Their body proportions are perfection. No real difference for some taking one of them, versus taking a Bynard, UNLESS its a class 3 or above ELITE companion; they don’t have emotions, feelings.
Hierachy does exist and is adhered to. Manners are treated as sacrosanct. You obey, follow the rules and RESPECT those senior to you. Disobedience does NOT occur!
Their clothing is practical, good quality and their ‘Vestige’ is always the same colours BAR the emblems on some that indicate their rank.
Abuse, bullying, intimidation NEVER occurs. The Vendaren do not understand nor recognise that as a concept. Prisoners are punished by special Clonetics who will NEVER damage them.
Pain can be inflicted HOWEVER that seldom ever happens.
They are rounded up, lined up, stripped naked and processed. The time from start to finish is so fast ? Trouble does NOT happen. None of this risk of rebellion. The pump and dump leaves them with a sense of Euphoria.
They have Diversity, the other Clonectics can be anyone, from other races.
They have Inclusion, into a huge number of other Clonectics. as one.
