IF Yie had been staring at the thing.. whatever it was.. it drew back, the arm retracted and was soon back where it had come from. A stand off that she had held her ground and not flinched if one could call it that.
Flinched, well that was a word, an expression a ? She did not understand other than the Ai entity aboard the craft relaying what it was.
There was an urge to wonder if destroying that, might have terminated all that was energized here.
Where was the energy core.. Nodu ought to know but that was another bad assumption.
How would he know when he had never been here..
She needed the Ai entity in the craft to run a deep scan to locate the power source.
Sure enough it was in one section and the four cannisters would need removing AND they had to be removed in a set sequence or a fail safe would trigger.
The mask was proving to be uncomfortable. She shoved her hand up to run across the straps..
“Leave that alone/” The Ai entity aboard the craft hissed at her.
ANY gap could allow the gas to seep in and whilst it would NOT kill her she would not escape the sickness, vomiting, light headed, even worse still collapsing; COLLAPSING there!
Recovery might be difficult if not impossible.. WELL not totally but! She lowered her hand. SO, in what order do I have to remove these. “ A pause..
“No idea. Are there any markings on the cannisters.” It was the voice of Nodu.
She moved to look.. “NO.” His voice was at least comforting. Nodu studied the layout,.
One of them he muttered powers a Portei Semperu. The power system is independent of the network. “ SO I can remove that one?”
“Yes.” She moved to extract it. “HOLD it tight , TWIST and pull.”
Yie tried but was not getting it moved. “Probably been in there for so long that part of the casing has fused “ Another pause. “Give it a thump”.. sometimes that jars the casing and breaks the seal on the seized part.
The warning from the Ai entity ?

it seals in the Neutronium.
AN explosion within that space would wipe YOU out .. OK, you will reform, regenerate but the experience so the archives record, is VERY unpleasant. “
Yie looked up shook her head.. NOW I am told.. In truth she did reason that she should have realized the perils involved.
This time she decided to NOT bash the cannister with anything. Rely on brute force. She was no weakling it just needed her to apply her strength .. to grab and twist at maximum torsion? She grabbed it and some relief to see that it TWISTED..
The lights around her flickered. An eerie chase effect from dull to bright to dull to bright and so on.
With the number of screens the effect was annoying but when it started to speed up?
It was interrupting her concentration.
A blur of flashing lights.. She pulled harder on the cannister.. noting that her concentration was definitely suffering. Was this a means to stop sabotage. If so to most certainly Human(a) it would probably have been quite effective. Finally the cannister slid out and she placed it carefully on the floor.
IT was going nowhere. NOW to decide which would be the next one. She reached forward and grabbed hold of the lever. Again some cursing at how stiff the cannister was.. The lights around her were now double the speed they had been..
What would happen IF she removed the wrong one.. out of sequence? Nodu could not help her and neither was the crafts Ai entity able to. Unknown parameters. She grabbed and twisted. It finally like the latter now moved and gradually slid out.
The ligjhts stopped with the chasing effect. Colour of each panel changed to fixed bright green streaks.
Well if that is all we are going to see. the relief might be at the lights stopping re that chase effect.
Bit brighter and almost blinding.
At least the helmet shield dimmed the light to a more comfortable level. The unit was showing some interesting results re the gases.. GONE. There was NO danger from toxic gas..
So far so good.. it would seem.
Two more to go.. She carefully made sure the other one was going nowhere placing it a short distance from the other one. The top one or the lower one.. The top one was awkward to get to. The lower one was different from the others.
The colour was darker.. Nodu thought that could be because the Neutronium was older than the others.
When it aged the colour often went darker. Indicating it needed changing though who would change it here ?
There was an indicator panel that she now noticed had started to flash.. The realization she had removed
TWO of the cannisters ? The amount of power heavily reduced and even more so because of the one that was already low on its correct level.
Moving forward to pull at the lever twist it.. cursing probably in her own language. Another pull and twist and it too dislodged from its housing. She almost dropped it.. Turning to place it down she noticed the lighting flicker and then resume its brightness.
Energy being redistributed. HOW would that affect the Ai entity ? Surely such reduced power levels must be affecting the ? Backup power system? Whar IF it had a backup system. That would mean all of her work would be in vain..
Talking to Nodu he was of the same opinion. Yie was now moving towards the higher cannister, the last one.
Well we shall soon find out. after you remove the last one. IF the power remains .. or flickers and resets..
Stepping forward stretching up.. she heard a noise.. Turning to see. .
