A Xuu,. Underwater evil critter. Living in caverns, that once were inhabited by hordes of them, before the great flood. Those who had survived, were too few to be of any real menace to the Human(a) BUT for the Mermui they were a ngihtmare. 
IF an opportunity arose, they would seize and eat one of them.. NOT much feasting and a little salty.. more tendon gristle and bone ah snap crackle and pop. OK they did eat shellfish AND sea weed.
Handing the thing over to the military. The Ai entity aware of its capture.. caught up in a net.. an electronic mesh that triggered to produce a spike of high energy which stunned it.
The presence of such a creature AND it seemed , with a level of intelligence. It could converse with the Ai entity.
How many of them, where were they, IT needed answers. Experimented on. Genetically altered to the specifications of its new masters or MASTER.
An underwater assassin. Well above water aswell but it could NOT stay out of the water for too long.
Paranoia. The Ai entity had reasoned there could be a threat from creatures living within the oceans. NOW it had been able to modify this creature.
IT would send IT to bring more for the genetic ‘enhancements’..
A neck thin collar controlled AND ensured complete obedience.
Failure to obey delivered a nasty shockwave. A dry burning sensation that had it squealing.
A terrifying shriek.. Webbed hands and feet. though it was able to grip things.

Visibility beyond most of these primitive Human(a) UNLESS it was Galacia Federa who’s visual spectrum included infra red OR specialized eye equipment. Targeting and other uses.. including identifying creatures hiding.
YOU would know ON LAND if such a creature had been there. They left a horrible snot like gunge on the ground. The viscosity of that was so slippery that if you accidentally stepped on it you could find loss of any grip, traction.
The synthesis of that had proven for the Ai entity very profitable.
IT also stank. Rancid with a stale stench about it. The smell of a rotting corpse could easily equate to that.
In close vicinity to it, most would seek to leave and damm quick. That stench could linger on clothing on YOU liken to early cigarette smoke. WELL if you lived long enough.
A dislike of Human(a) was not in its former genetic makeup but now it had been modified so it ,would NOT, kill them. Havoc, it could create a real mess when it came to trashing things OR stealing. Thieving git might be a good representation of that.
IT stole, secret plans, materials and of course anything its Ai entity MASTER wanted. Of course treasures including ancient artifacts. Ones it had managed to grab shortly after those items had been landed by
Luke and Cyn.
IT had not seen Cyn who had rushed off carrying some of the items to those now taking them off her and to the laboratory on land..
Ah leff for easy pickings. A small haul it would seem, however the strange ORBS, had caught ITs attention..
