What to do.. Yie stared at the bright tunnel of energy that she instantly recognised as a Portei Semperu forming and in it that terrifying creature. NOT known to Yie but in her ‘minds eye’ she had been shown
WHAT it was.
IF this thing in the chamber with her was thinking Yie would be feeling FEAR it was to be disappointed IF IT of course COULD FEEL, have or could sense such.
Working aboard the space station resetting the Portei there. Yie had Nodu whispering in her ear - remember YES Yie .. remember.. REMEMBER the rules of INVERSE .. INVERSIONS. This is wrong, all wrong.. WHOEVER set that up, forgot ???
THIS PS was being powered from HERE in this chamber.. IT cannot be because WHOever is using the PS has to power it ie CREATE it, from the other end.. ONLY those LEAVING to enter it from there can use it.. YOU cannot be traversing it in the WRONG direction..
THAT action is known as INVERSION.
IT can happen. in extremes of misuse BUT. it is as Nodu was reminding Yie, very VERY UNSTABLE.. and?
Remember ENTRY is from her side.. NOT the INVERSE..
Now Yie is an astro physicist, extremely intelligent and more than capable as Nodu had come to realize with how her instincts were always showing INTELLIGENCE versus STUPIDITY.. . will ALWAYS WIN..
This PS that was opening was PRIMITIVE .. way way older and ? We are of course aware that the PS is bringing that thing closer and closer.. though it WAS slower than it normally would have been IF the INVERSION was not in effect.
“Yie!” She could hear Nodu in her ears.. which now were fully out an proud.. her hearing, her senses, now reasoning, as she turned, went towards the cannister and picked it up.. A FULLY charged.. NEUTRONIC ..
Turning she swung her arm the hand holding the cannister and shoved it forwards at speed releasing the cannister INTO the PS.. Sucked in at some speed.. to vanish .. ??
The PS shut down.. what they had not seen was the Neutronic explosion, which DID not destroy the PS, the original terminus.. but, vaporised everything, that had been within it.
“YESSSS.. “ Nodu’s voice in her ears.. on her senses the sense that was warmth .. she liked Nodu when he praised her.
NOW what to do with that dammed Ai entity.. which was stood there doing nothing.
What had just happened? How could? so many things the Ai entity was now feeding back to its Masters..
Failure? how could this have happened. Confused.. unable to process the outcome.. as anything but failure?
IT shut down.. vanished.. FAILURE could not be redacted. Thus termination was an inbuilt action, to prevent any from analyzing the thing, whatever it was.. OR tracing the original source of its MASTER or was it MASTERS.
WHO were ITs MASTER or MASTERS..
From above her the hatch opened and the arm extended outwards, DOWN towards. her.. A weapon ?
The eye moved from side to side. flared.. the weapon now ..
IT stopped mid air.. as though frozen in TIME.. The brightness dying away...
The last cannister? Its power had been substantially drained.. the power in the chamber was draining the rest of it at a rapid rate. As she reached up to extract it the power died.. A fading light to darkness. “Whoa..” she hissed at realizing she was in complete darkness.
That moment your senses, your SIGHT is compromised. She carefully went to put the cannister down after a lot of struggling to twist it and pull it out..
Her sight recovered. She could now see the place in darkness. the shadows. That thing hanging mid air..
Eerie silence. Moving towards the exit.. she needed to get out into the daylight.. feeling claustrophobic, confined.
Behind her, the thing shifted.. the eye lit up.. flitted from side to side to finally look, well one might say, it certainly was focused on Yie; the weapon fired.. One long searing blast..
Yie felt the burn.. the blast that tore into her.. her whole form twisted, shook and part of her ripped away, torn like tearing a piece of paper.. the corner now missing..
She fell.. IT had targeted her, with some precision as though in its last breath.. ah yes,. last breath; HERS?
Falling, stumbling .. to lie motionless .. on that cold COLD .. a wisp of mist from her lips..
Nodu stood motionless.. his whole form feeling a terrifying coldness.. he had reset the screen so had not seen what had happened to Yie.. Now as he turned it back on.. he could see her lying there.
Vision became blurred but he, was already out and headed over to her with some of the others in hot pursuit.
The Mermui had sent two of theirs after him.
Yie. had not seen, the shapes, within that chamber.. forming in the darkness.
The air ionised... the peculiar smell that comes with it.
The arm and that eye .. vaporised. Had its master / s known?
The whisper .. in her ears.. her body rising... carried like a feather on the wind drifts.. upwards.. to stop.
A form to her left. one to her right cradling her.. as the voice continued..
YOU, cannot die.. YOU are an IMMORTAI..
The light, the all encompassing light flooding her body.. bathed in its warmth; Nodu’s words in her ears..
disturbing her senses. WARMTH..as she felt his arms around her.. taking hold of her, to gently place her back on her feet..
Was she different.. ???
