In Zone 4. A small planet with an orbiting moon. Febos.
The sun, had barely risen above the horizon. Sajae was watching from a tower, as the haze of heat, forming above the dry sandy earth, started to ripple. From experience he knew the way the day had started, the heat would continue to build up, until it would be almost impossible to remain above, on the surface.
The heat? Few of the local inhabitants died from it, though if you got trapped out in it for long periods, during the day? You might curse with equal measure and wish, for some, that you were dead.
Most of the local populace, were not that stupid, nor inclined to risk this amount of exposure. He retrieved the disc, replaced it with another that was new and started to move towards the underground entrance, out of the heat and into the cool of the tunnel.
Sajae had stopped and stared, his eyes not believing the figure or what seemed to be a figure in the haze now moving towards him. The distorted shimmer from the rising haze of heat, made the figure look contorted, twisted, almost impossible to tell, whether it was male or female. Eventually, it was, close enough to make out, the figure of a Sadarian female.
Dressed in flowing robes and recognizable as one of their warrior class, He was unsure, of what to make, of her sudden unexpected appearance. It was not unusual, to see the occasional Sadarians. Must have arrived on a Zimp or maybe a Hopper.
Their planet was just ions away. Yes, they did visit to trade and similar. What caused him, to have some anxiety, was the way the Sadarian female almost stumbled. He moved towards her, to see her drop, catching her in his arms, before easing her down, to slump at his feet.
There was, as we would know it, blood. Bodily fluids where the skin had been cut, oozing in a couple of places. The female had been attacked, attempted to defend herself? He came to that conclusion, given the sheath for the weapon she carried, had been splashed with another's bodily fluid.
Not seen such a color, unable to determine what species, it might have come from. Quick to pick her up, albeit with some care, given her wounds. Stepping into the underground tunnel.
‘You are lucky I was above ground, to see you and rescue you. Two other figures moved towards him, they had come out of one of the chambers, startled by the sight of Sajae, carrying this female in his arms. Clearly beginning to feel her weight and starting to struggle.
Relieved to let, the other two carry her. To us, it would be two Earth days, before she woke. Once her eyes had closed, her wounds treated; she had gone into a deep sleep. The Sadarin body, depending on the level of injury, tends to shut down. A kind of hibernation, whilst it repairs itself?
So her comatose condition, as we would know it, was perfectly normal, given the circumstances and the level of her injuries? No one knew, where they came from, whatever the things were, they swept in and swept out. Murder and mayhem left in their wake.
Ensuing chaos, leaving thousands dead or dying. Sajae had informed his elders, of the situation. Emergency aid craft and extra Galacia Federa troops had been sent, to help the Sadarians.
What Sajae saw, along with others of his people, on arriving at the Sadarin capital. Loweja had been laid bare. True, he had seen destruction, dead bodies, but this? They could find no reason for the savagery of this attack. The Sadarin had a strong military force. It, had been, almost annihilated.
The bulk of their forces, gone. Nothing had been taken, demanded. Why one might ask, had the enemy taken such trouble to ensure none of their dead or wounded had been left behind?
In space, the remote satellites, had been wiped clean, of any data. If 95% of all tracking devices, were failing, one was not. It picked up a faint, yet distinct pattern, of space craft, unlike anything that had been seen in the system before.
Fast heading OUT of this system, into another, but not before, it had scanned one of the vessels. Recognized patterns, certain characteristics that it had been programmed to react to? It immediately started relaying the information.
Its destruction indicated to the uninvited, whoever they were, that it had detected their presence, snooping on them. It seems however, that they were not, aware of the fact, that it had transmitted their presence, the information it had gleaned from its scan parsed to its masters..
Nathan on Fendiq. Eventually received the information. The location of the Sadarin homeworlds from Cxao his military commander. Cxao was also conveying those details, to the remote satellite, planted by them, near to Onica. Its standby mode, was now changed to ‘Full alert'.
